People have garage sales, but there’s no permits or taxation on it. I’m waiting for the day in the future where instead of drug busts we’ll have garage sale busts. Then everything will be done undercover, in basements. Then we’ll see our citizens on the front page of the News for illegal garage sales.

The Thursday night concerts are over with for the year, but they need to realize that the building next door has a lot of ill people that can’t handle this kind of noise. Concerts every single day. They can’t watch their TVs or do anything. Give them some consideration. We have a band shelter in the middle of town, we also have the Miller band shelter with plenty of room. Why stick it next to the seniors?

I just received my pension check and now they’re saying the tables provided by the IRS were deemed not appropriate with the use of pension payments. Now they’re taking $76.70 more out of my measly pension. We go from $292.67 to $225.97 in one month, all of a sudden. The federal government can’t figure out how to tax us, so now they’re just whacking us for money.

Why are students’ parents required to buy all kinds of school supplies? What are the school budgets for? I think the teachers actually inflate what is to be brought to class to make it extravagant.

The last concert at Gateway Park. Talk about lame! The opening act was good, but nothing good about the main act.

I’m getting tired of hearing about Michael Jackson. Sorry he’s dead, but please stop. I’m tired of turning on the TV and hearing about it. Every channel you turn on, they talk about him.

Main Street in the City of Tonawanda has a lot of stores that aren’t handicapped accessible. If they want people to shop, they have to be able to get into the stores!

How about something else in Sound Off besides comments about the mayors, governor and president. We have people overseas getting killed, MIA, POWs, people injured and have to go back. Let’s show our flags to support them. Fly the American flag.

Those docks at Gateway Park are reserved by boaters who pay for their use. You have the rest of the park. However, bringing your own drinks in and drinking for free during the concerts is not allowed. The reason they sell drinks at the concerts is to keep them free.

We went down to the historical society today to see the plaques around the cannon. It’s a beautiful setup, but it’s a disgrace. You could only read three of the plaques. You don’t know what’s on the other ones. You can’t see the names. What sense is having a plaque when you can’t read it?

I’m the person who called in the kudos to the Tonawanda street crew. I’m an 80-year-old lifetime resident of the city, not the DPW supervisor! The caller’s jealousy is showing.
