I recently got my copy of the Magazine for the TNT 100th year celebrating the football teams. I must say I was disappointed. I thought the captains from all past teams would be listed, also I thought there would be more pictures, doesn't the News have a good morgue? I know they had a photographer in the 60s and 70s, who took lots of pictures and I think at that time they had a terrific sports editor. I'm sure lots of the old players was disappointed.

For the past year, I have been following the diligent work of the CACWNY as they strive to get to the bottom of the air pollution problem that is making so many people, including myself, sick in the Ken-Ton community. I am sure that when all is said and done, the truth will be told and the wrong-doings at Tonawanda Coke will be rectified. Two things I’d like to know: Why are the local politicians, namely Anthony Caruana and the Town Board, still sticking their heads in the sand like this problem doesn’t even exist? As a hard-working taxpayer in Ken-Ton, I will vote for a politician who is willing to serve and protect their constituents, not play the safe card and act invisible in the midst of all this controversy. Second of all, when are the employees of Tonawanda Coke, whether management or union, going to speak up and tell the truth? They know the dirty deeds going on at that plant, yet they are willing to sacrifice their health and others for the sake of a job.

Can everyone just give it a rest about the T-NT game? The last time I checked it was just a game meant for fun. It is not a reflection of either city or the players. It is a game! Please stop going on and on about how it isn't fair-- no one cares except the people who have difficulty realizing football isn't the most important part of life.

I received a mailing from Mr. Davis and had the pleasure of meeting him while he was in the neighborhood. On both occasions he stated that he would be a full-time mayor. I don't know what the Republicans are trying to prove by lying about Mr. Davis' intentions, but he told me that he would be a full-time mayor.

I was happy to see the NT council rejected the request from that Orchard Park organization to change the zoning of the St. Joseph's Church campus, so that they could build a home for troubled or needy youth and supposedly for veterans. That organization runs senior citizen centers in Orchard Park, so I have a suggestion for them. Why don't they build the home for the youth in Orchard Park, and a home for senior citizens at the NT site!
