Tonawanda News — I would like to know if someone could tell me how come we have to pay for  a copy at City Hall? We pay the wages for all those people to work. We also pay for all their little perks, plus the bonuses they get. Then they charge you a quarter a page. We pay for the paper, we pay for the ink. In other words we pay for everything, then we gotta pay again to get a copy for the thing we already paid for. I hope the voters get out this year and get somebody else in there.

Saw the article about a woman filing suit at the Love Canal site. No doubt that she bought the house cheap and knew what she was getting into when buying in Love Canal.

We had this well-informed Democrat in the paper on Saturday, who is getting sick of all the Republicans complaining all the time. Well guess what, we don’t really complain about Obama. We’re just waiting until the end of the year to hear you cry instead of us. You got it the wrong way around. You are gonna be crying when you see what’s coming down the pipe. You have no idea of the medical expenses for older people that they are not gonna cut because all the cuts and that. All your hospitals are getting points for not helping old people. All you young people are gonna be hurtin’ too. Just wait eight months and see.

I worked for Gannett for 38 years and when USA Today was started we lost everything, just to support Al Neuharth’s baby. Many people were hurt by the self-centered way to create the paper. So you won’t have to shovel the burial to crew him into the ground.

Isn’t it about time we get rid of this president? Impeach him and get a new president like Mitt Romney. Romney paid 22 percent, something like that. Obama paid 15 percent. On TV they say 18 percent, to be really nice to people. I know you Democrats got all your kids in college and there are so many jobs out there, especially with a growth rate of 0.6! What more could you want? Or are your kids still staying at home because of Mr. Obama.

Can’t understand for the life of me why the people of Wheatfield and NT are not out visiting the fire departments open house. I drove by 5 fire halls today and saw only the firemen. These guys put their life on the line for you! I speak from experience that it is a gut wrenching feeling watching a house burn, hoping everyone made it out and watching  everything you work hard for get consumed by fire. The least you could do is stop by and say thank you. For the record, yes I did stop at my local fire hall and said thank you.

Hats off to the Tonawanda Police Department who tonight caught the two thieves who robbed me of my purse in the parking lot of Tops on Niagara Street in less than two hours tonight. The Officers were sharp, professional, kind and got the job done. Thanks to Officer Balling, Ulmer, Scarpena and others. I was really astounded that they caught these two. Also, beware, these two were apparently watching me in the store and followed me out, so be careful and don’t make the mistakes I did. Now if some honest Tonawandan happens to find my black purse the thieves claimed they threw out of the car on Broad Street, my faith in our small city will be restored. My info is in it so just drop it off, no questions asked.
