The Tonawanda News

Tonawanda News — I think that the Republicans of North Tonawanda would be happy just to sit at home and watch New Year’s Eve on Fox Network instead of actually going to watch the ball drop.

I’m calling cause I think the Tonawanda News should raise their rates to $1 like the Buffalo News so that I can receive this great paper on Monday and Tuesday.

I would just like to say that I think Barbara Tucker is a great writer. Her article on Thursday, Dec. 5 regarding coffee talk was fantastic insight into a brand new coffee that will revolutionize this country.

I’m a resident in the City of Tonawanda and I’m wondering why all I read about is how North Tonawanda receives developmental grants. They’re able to improve a lot of things in their city. But unfortunately we never hear anything about the City of Tonawanda. Was just wondering with the politicians, is there no interest? Do we not pursue anything like this?

Shame on you Barbara Tucker for talking so nasty about our weatherman Aaron Mentkowski. He’s a homegrown boy from North Tonawanda. Comes from a great family, has a great smile, great personality, does a great job. You don’t like the way he pronounces something? Are you kidding me? This is North Ton-a-wand-a. And by the way, he does great weather. We like the way he moves around and doesn’t stand there like a staunch, stupid statue. Shame on you for talking about someone in such a nasty way.

I just wanted to compliment the crew who lit up Clinton Park this year. It’s the most beautiful I’ve ever seen it in my 67 years of living here. It’s just gorgeous.

I’m out there shoveling my driveway on North Avenue and in a matter of 10 minutes, three snowplows went by. I would just get my driveway cleaned up and another one would come by. Three plows in a matter of 10 minutes. Wow.

I can’t believe the City of Tonawanda is thinking of putting cameras on red lights because they say that Niagara and Seymour and Broad streets and Delaware are very hard to monitor. There isn’t a street in this city, this little tiny city, that’s hard to monitor. If these cops can’t monitor this little town then they shouldn’t be on the police force. I’ve never heard anything as stupid as in this City of Tonawanda. They just can’t think of enough ways to harass people in this city. I think they have too many cops, that’s the problem.

Well I notice now whoever is plowing the City of Tonawanda is not plowing behind the police station along the river where everyone goes jogging and rides their bicycles. They still do that during the winter. These city workers who have nothing to do aren’t doing their jobs. Get on the ball and clean up the whole area like you’re supposed to do.
