Tonawanda News — It appears that Council President Russ Rizzo is still pushing that tripe about the NT Democratic Party trying to force him to do something as why he left the party. Hogwash! I find it interesting that he never gives the specific event that turned him off. Rizzo has always been a fence-sitter. Mr. Wishy-washy. He will do what Ortt tells him to do. Truth be told, he jumped ship for personal gain.

For the idiot who thinks the postal workers should take a cut in pay, why don’t you get out there and deliver the mail in this below-zero weather? Do you realize what you get for your few cents versus what other countries pay to mail a letter? You’ve got to be out of your mind. You’re nuts. Get with the program, buddy.

I think cameras at the red lights are a great idea. If you obey the law you’ve got nothing to worry about.

So the City of Tonawanda wants to hire a company without even investigating the company. They’re scandalous and disgraceful and from out of state. Why would these politicians do that? We don’t need these cameras anyway? For the three people who might drive down the street in the middle of the night? Get a life, Tonawanda.

If the cops in the City of Tonawanda can’t patrol certain streets — we don’t have that many streets in the city — maybe we should hire police officers who are experienced and know how to control the traffic.

Medicaid fraud costs $127,000? That’s nothing compared to the money politicians steal. Why don’t we put these politicians in jail.

On Kramer Street in North Tonawanda there is an ice rink. They do plow it and take care of it. The other day there were some boys playing hockey. So you can take advantage of that one.

Some people are referring Phil Robertson’s remarks about homosexuals as his opinion. It isn’t his opinion, it’s from God’s word. The Bible condemns homosexual behavior so you have to change to be acceptable to God.

I think politicians need to look at a very serious flaw in the welfare system. If someone has a vendetta against someone on public assistance all they have to do is call the tip line and accuse them of fraud. All assistance is immediately offended. Families can’t fill prescriptions or buy groceries. Children suffer the most. It should be innocent until proven guilty. Then when they find out it’s a hoax, Social Services doesn’t even apologize.

What’s all the ruckus about getting a free calendar? Stop being a cheapskate. Cough up a buck, go to the dollar store and get one.

I see the Main Street revenue hawks, aka the City of Tonawanda cops. We might as well merge with the Town of Tonawanda because we’re becoming the Town of Tonawanda. That used to be their forte.
