Tonawanda News — To the idolizer of one party rule in NT and Mayor Ortt, he or she should known that Ortt doesn’t secure grants. The Community Development office and LCDC does the grunt work and Ortt spouts it out to the public as if he had something to do with it.

If the caller who stated that Mayor Ortt can put another feather in his cap for securing a large public safety grant would read the article instead of jumping on a political wagon, he could have gotten his facts straight. It was the work of officers to locate and write the grant. Instead of bashing the public employees all the time, let’s give them credit. This city exists because of the work of public employees, not politicians. Politicians come and go, but the workers give 20 or 30 years of their lives and they are the ones who have the ideas to keep things going.

How come we never hear from the chief of the North Tonawanda police? Anytime you have an article it quotes a captain or a lieutenant or the mayor.  Who are we paying all this money to and isn’t he smart enough to talk about what he is supposed to be the head of? I’m starting to think he is just a political figurehead put there by Ortt and his boys.
