The Tonawanda News
Tonawanda News — What is with the Tonawanda police department and city government lately? On Christmas Eve/very early Christmas morning, my daughter’s car, parked in front of my house, was broken down and could not be started, jump started nor pushed into our driveway for the evening. Not wanting to receive a parking ticket, I called the non-emergency line at TPD, fully expecting a rational person who would relay the situation to the officers and a reprieve from the ticket. What I got instead was a nasty, snotty dispatcher who informed me my daughter’s car would be ticketed if left on the street. When I reiterated that I could not push it by myself into the drive and that it was too late to summon any of my neighbors for help, I was once again left with a snotty reply and hung up on! Are we living in a Gestapo state in Tonawanda? By me being honest and explaining the problem I actually deserved that treatment?
Would the North Tonawanda DPW please fix the sewer receivers on Nash Road, Oliver Street, Payne Avenue and on River Road. They’re all in terrible condition.
I’m reading this article in the Tonawanda News about the Snowflake Ball being held in February. It would be nice if they said a little bit more about where it’s being held and more about it.
Barbara Tucker’s column in regard to the anonymous Sound Off reports and bogus briticism of politicians hit the nail right on the head. It’s an excellent column. It’s obvious these people are the same people. I wish they would just quit calling into the newspaper.
