Tonawanda News — I don’t agree with A&E and the way they’re picking on Phil Robertson. He doesn’t preach anything negative. You’re not allowed to have your own views? People always do slip with words. The government tells us we’re not supposed to use the N-word, but every black rapper and singer uses it and every comedian uses it? The government is backwards.

We have been faithful subscribers of the Tonawanda News...40 years plus. I was hoping for a free calendar. No one gives a calendar anymore, for the new year. I may be old fashion, but I still like a paper calendar. I like the ones with big squares, so I can write Dr. appointments, hair appointments, birthdays etc. I attach it to the front of my refrigerator. Could you give me any suggestions of the businesses that still give them. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

When is the City of North Tonawanda going to install the snow fence along River Road at Gratwick Park? The posts are up, but still no fence and it has been snowing for the past several months. I have witnessed several accidents due to the snow blowing across all four lanes of the highway.

Can anybody please explain how I go about telling my children to respect the law, when you see police officers running stop signs or turning on their lights just to get through the intersection. What do you tell them other than (they’re special) when they ask why I have to stop but they don’t?
