Tonawanda News —
Can anyone please tell me what Niagara Falls mayor did throughout the years that the Seneca Casino was giving them millions of dollars? What did Niagara Falls do with all that money that they were receiving? Certainly it didn't go into the streets or anything to better the people. Who got all those millions? I'm glad that they weren't handing out any more money to the Falls, the town is abominable. They don't know what to do with their money except pocket it.
Every year, the people who live on Clinton Street between Fletcher and Hill put on the nicest flower display on their island and they're doing that now. They're hanging baskets and pretty flower arrangements, it is so beautiful every summer. But when they have that thing about going around sucking all the nice flower displays and all that they never got any notoriety on Clinton Street for the work they put into it. It's not just women, it's also the men, they really take a lot of pride. So this summer if you want to see a nice flower display, people that really care about their street, go down on Clinton between Fletcher and Hill because it's really worth seeing.
I'm sick of all the politicians and anyone that works for the City of Tonawanda and anyone affiliated with the City of Tonawanda. They're all corrupt. Get rid of them. Let's look for new people. All they want to do is fill their pockets, and we all know that's what they're doing. So let's get rid of them, I'm sick and tired of them all.
Enough about putting traffic lights back up in the city. We need to take out more. Let's make it 100 more signals out of North Tonawanda this year and put up stop signs. Maybe if people had to worry about the risk of damaging their vehicle because they run the stop signs, they might start stopping for them instead of running them along with the red lights.
The person in Saturday's paper, there's nothing wrong with having done away with that stop light at Tremont. And no, I don't think there's going to be any accidents there. It's part of getting the traffic through North Tonawanda. There's been too many lights in North Tonawanda and it hems up traffic. This is one way of relieving the traffic. So far, I haven't seen any accidents there.
I just came through the intersection of Payne and Tremont that has been replaced with stop signs in only two directions. I think people should keep the number for "Hurt in a car, call William Mattar" because that intersection is an accident going to happen. Who in their right mind came up with the idea? When you get to Christiana, it's a four-way stop. Either you put traffic signals in Payne and Tremont, put it back, or put a four-way stop. Plus, there's parking on Payne Avenue so your sight is impaired in both directions.
