Tonawanda News — I see a lot of trees coming down in the city. I have seven trees on my block that are coming down. It’s sad to see. What are the plans to replant?

What has happened to our mail delivery service? Today I received two letters back from the Postal Service that were mailed to an NT business in April 2013 and November 2013. Does it really take the USPS four months and 11 months to discover that a North Tonawanda business has gone out of business? Their motto “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.” The postal service are getting “less swift” as the cost of postage goes up.

When are you people going to quit electing these half-wit liberal Democrats? First they wanted inmates to get free college. Now they want illegal immigrants to get free college. Our kids have school loans and you people keep electing in these jerks to spend our tax dollars for more freebees.

The reason why your Time Warner cable bill is going up is because Time Warner enter into contracts with the Dodgers and LA Kings for millions of dollars. Now they took a loss so we have to foot the bill.

I really hate to see cuts in teaching staff.  I hate it even worse when I see waste going on at the same time. Why is it that the shrubbery in front of the NT High School was replaced with even larger, more expensive units of the same type after the originals got snow plowed over and choked by weeds? The district may get a volume price break but it looks to me like at least $100K worth of landscaping that will not be maintained this year either. Combine that damage with the plowed over, lighted bollards at the middle school, that’s only what I can see from the front sidewalk. What other costly amenities are being allowed to fall apart? I have to wonder why we’re spending money on any of these capital “improvements.” Remember this when they sell these projects telling voters that they won’t cost the district anything, yet here we are broke and threatening staff layoffs again. Nothing is free!
