Tonawanda Coke must pay $25 million in fines to the government. All the people who live around Tonawanda Coke who have suffered terrible illnesses, they get nothing. Unless, of course, they go on their own and sue Tonawanda Coke. By that time Tonawanda Coke will declare bankruptcy. Even if they do win, the lawyers will get one-third of the money. The people suffer, the lawyers benefit, the government benefits. Isn’t it great to live in America?
