Tonawanda News — The new pavilion in Niawanda Park in the City of Tonawanda looks like the country club in the movie “Caddyshack.” What’s next? Greeters at the door to let you in? Why not have valet parking? If the city had carpeting installed, yes, it does cut down on the noise. It will look nice in a home, not a pavilion. It’s a mistake. People spill drinks. Who ever runs that pavilion, you just made their job a lot harder. You better keep Stanley Steamer on stand-by.

I wanted to mention to the Tonawanda News editors, how much I appreciate the columns by Jill Keppeler and Paul Lane. I am a grandmother. When I read the paper and everything is so discouraging and I think ‘what are these kids doing?’ I read these columns and it brings me mack to home and normalcy. I want to thank them, and you. Merry Christmas.

That crybaby Speaker of the House sure doesn’t want millionaires to pay more taxes. He’s fighting the president like crazy. But he does want the middle class and poor to pay more taxes. At least, what’s left of the middle class.

I cannot believe so many people in the United States have mental problems. When I send my children to school in the morning, the teacher in the room is in charge of the entire classroom. If she notices anything peculiar, it is her responsibility to contact the parent and contact the nurse. Tell her what she sees and send the child to the nurse’s office. I believe when my child leaves my house and goes to school, the teacher is in charge of that classroom. Also, the bus driver is in charge of every child on that bus. That incident with the woman who was bullied on the bus, the driver should have pulled over and said ‘I’m not moving until you all be quiet.’
