Tonawanda News — The street immediately in front of Third Presbyterian Church in North Tonawanda has been in such a mess in winter. The water in front of the curb does not drain properly and when it snows there’s a couple of inches of water. This area is marked handicapped parking. It’s a real accident waiting to happen for the people of our church. We have about 10 people who depend on this area to get from the street to the church safely. For years we have complained to the public works department. They’re aware of it. They fixed it a couple years ago but it was such a shoddy job the problem still existed. Does anyone know how to get the city to fix it? Our phone calls and letters have been in vain.

I didn’t laugh cuz I know how serious this can be. Just like our Young St. bridge. How about “Caution - All vehicles must stop ahead!” Then 20 feet later - “Stop - All Vehicles must come to a complete stop before proceeding under the bridge.”  Or, are there utilities under the street that would prevent us from tearing up the street and lowering it 2 to 3 feet? The trucking companies and their insurance companies could be shown video like this and asked to cover the cost of such a project.

Four years have gone. Our children saddled with the largest debt in history. The bailed-out auto industry losing badly to the competition. Government scheduled to take over 17 percent of U.S. private sector industry. Foreign affairs and policy is a mess and they think that 171,000 new jobs is a good number. You people voted for change and this is what you recieved in return. This clearly shows the the current administration has been and continues to be way over its head. But you got what you voted for. A community organizer with little or no business acumen. If he is the CEO of any corporation, based on track record, he’s fired. God bless America!
