Tonawanda News — Ever notice that every time Tops has the two week period when you can redeem your gas points that they’re 6 cents higher than everyone else around?

I don’t know about anybody else but I’m a little bit disgusted. Three out of four messages on my machine were from Medical Alert. Does anybody know how to get rid of this company?

Does anybody else have problems with mail delivery in the City of Tonawanda? Some days I think routes are skipped because there aren’t enough mail carriers. I would like to know if anybody else has this problem.

I am offended with the political cartoon on Sept. 19 about the shooting at the Washington Navy Yard. Doesn’t anybody realize that every shooting was in a gun-free zone? Newtown, Conn., Columbine, Virginia Tech and the theater. I call a gun-free zone a target-rich zone. The victims in all the shootings were unarmed and defenseless. If they could defend themselves they wouldn’t have been victims.

For the past month this paper has bashed the Second Ward candidate in Tonawanda. Please, Sound Off, grow up. Have you ever talked to this candidate or have seen how much she has done for Tonawanda? People that complain about getting cut back on their work hours due to Obamacare, that’s a bunch of baloney. If your employer wants to give you health insurance, why can’t they? There’s no law on the books stating that they cannot. It’s just another loophole your employer cowardly uses to cut jobs and avoid paying health insurance to employees. If they had a kind heart, why not just keep your hours and provide the health benefits? It’s that simple. It’s called the bottom line, bonuses and greed.
