Tonawanda News — I find it fascinating when there is a threat of a teacher’s strike there is a sudden panic of “oh my gosh what will happen to the children ... oh my gosh the little children.” But when nurses strike no one says “oh my gosh those poor helpless people that need skilled, caring, Registered Nurses to care for them. So Walmart has been open for a while now, coexisting with Budweys. I haven’t seen the predicted downfall of life as we knew it because Walmart moved in. Budweys is open and from myself being a loyal Budweys patron, it seems as though his business has actually improved. Budweys has Mighty Taco as a tenant, Walmart still has no side show neighbors like Applebee’s etc ... The end of the world didn’t happen. I think there should be some reimbursement to the city for the frivolous lawsuits that Budweys filed to keep Walmart out.

Let’s see the similarities ... the pope rides around in a limousine and appears to huge audiences and jesus walked everywhere he went from door to door preaching to the people. The pope dresses in expensive robes and jesus had one outer garment which the soldiers gambled over while he was dying. The pope lives in an extravagant palace with million dollar paintings and jesus had “no place to lay his head.” The pope’s lifestyle is provided by the poor people and jesus taught his apostles to work to provide for themselves and their families. The pope welcomes his people to kiss his ring and jesus said he “came to serve, not to be served.” The pope involves himself in politics and jesus fled from those who wanted to make him king, instead proclaiming God’s Kingdom as the only hope for mankind.
