The Tonawanda News

Tonawanda News — This immigration thing that they are coming out with sounds too much like the health care plan that Obama started out with. He started out the same way by putting some things on the table. Then behind closed doors he put in what he wanted and nothing is resolved. It turns out it is going to cost people more money. It’s a big mess. It’s not a good thing. I don’t think I would trust the administration because he will go behind closed doors and tack whatever he wants like he did the health bill. This has got to stop. You people who voted him in you really have problems.

I’m just reading the paper and somebody is complaining about too much salt on the street. What the heck is the matter with you people in Tonawanda? You’re not happy with one thing, you’re not happy with another. If there wasn’t any salt there you’d be calling in complaining about that. Don’t sweat the small stuff folks. Think about what’s big and bad in this world. You people are silly.

I was just reading in Thursday’s edition of Sound Off that people are talking about getting rid of pocket knives, even Boy Scout knives. Are they losing their minds? They’re the ones that need to be checked out for mental health.

I’m just reading the article about Obama and he’s saying the middle class is in jeopardy. Well guess what the middle class has never been in such trouble since Obama took office. Everything he has done has put the middle class in trouble. He is the one who wants to get rid of the unions! He’s the one who is trying to get rid of the middle class! He wants to give everything free to poor people! He is getting rid of jobs and small businesses. Small business is the backbone of this nation. Thank you Obama! We can’t wait until we get rid of you.

Hey if I shovel my city-owned sidewalk you better repair my homeowner-owned lawn by the street you ripped up with your plow or I will fine you for the repair. Fair is fair.

A Sound Off in the Jan. 31 column made the ridiculous statement that “hammers kill more people than guns” and invited people to fact-check this statement. I did that, and learned that 67.9 percent of murders are committed with firearms, while 3.9 percent are committed with blunt objects, including baseball bats, clubs and hammers. Wild, unsubstantiated statements are commonly made by “gun nuts.” Maybe the person who wrote that “fact” thinks people should also own grenades, tanks, and rocket-launchers.

The parking lot at Sportsplex is absolutely atrocious! They collect money from us to host sporting events and they seriously neglect the parking lot. Unfortunately someone is going to do serious damage to their vehicle or god forbid, someone is going to get hurt before they do anything about it.
