Tonawanda News — To everyone writing in about God’s opinions on same sex marriage — guess what? Some people don’t believe in your God or any god at all, and could care less if what they’re doing is considered wrong in your religion. The great part about living in this country is you’re entitled to believe whatever you’d like to believe, but thankfully you’ll be treated the same under law. I fail to see the part where you lose something in this.

Well, here we go. I look online and find that Canal Fest has two arrests. Neither one had anything to do with Canal Fest, but the News had to make it look that way. Drunk driver who went around a barricade and some kid who didn’t know any better. Can’t wait to see what else gets into print this week.

Shame on you for completely missing the point of the alumni football game. Has beens? Regardless, I’m sure Children’s Hospital and the family of Mr. Piccolo are thankful for the $10,000 that was raised by those boys.

To the person commenting on the Tea Party concert and pot smoking and drugs, pot is a drug ... and so is alcohol. Concerts are common places for these types of activities. I will tell you I’d rather have someone smoking pot next to me then smoking cigarettes and yes pot is illegal, but cigarette smoking is what causes cancer and second hand smoke is also disgusting and causes cancer in those of us who do not smoke. So ... that being said, if you don’t like the concerts and what happens at them... DON”T GO... simple ... easy ... stay home!

To the person who called in wanting to place signs in to warn people about geese on Sweeney St. to give geese and deer a chance to live ... I’m almost at a loss at words. The very last thing anybody wants is to have them around our city, let alone walking paths and parks. Not only are they over populated, on average they leave 2 pounds of droppings per day... per day! That doesn’t just wash off with rain water. It gets trampled on by human feet, then traveled to your own house. They’re also very violent and protective. Deer are also problematic in NT. They have no fear of humans and rule the streets eating all the landscaping in anyone’s yards they can get a hold of before they get hit by a car. Where is the bait and shoot program?

In response to the person who wrote in about the T-NT Alumni game, and the players being “has beens” etc!! Please... find something better to do with your time than to criticize a group of people for wanting to have fun! Sounds to me like you might have been one of those “has beens” from way back when, who was too lazy this time around to join in the fun alumni game ... Instead of finding the negative in the event, appreciate that people want to re-live their younger years, good or bad, it was fun, and I hope they have this “reunion” game more often!!!

To the person who referred to the T-NT alumni game as a bunch of “has beens” and “never was”: Looks like someone is still a little bitter over getting their head dunked in the toilet.
