Tonawanda News — Wow! Talking about governmental “foot dragging” at its zenith! Finally, the Calgon Carbon project gets going under Mayor Ortt after this public/private partnership was first brought forward in 2009 under former Mayor Soos. Wonder how many friends and family of the present mayor and council members are getting jobs as a result of this project?

I enjoyed the Council on Your Corner last week. I hardly can make the council meetings and the Council on Your Corner brings me up to speed on what is going on in the city. Thank you Koch for these events. I hope there is another one planned soon.

In his opinion piece, Scott Leffler hit it right on the head. A soldier can’t even come back to a respectful return due to the politics Republicans keep playing when the president does anything. From day one the Republican leadership in this country has stymied growth and put politics over the country just to get at Obama. This is just another example. They are just weak, jealous political buffoons.

I’m glad the City of Tonawanda voted down parking on the streets overnight. I live in the Fourth Ward and I have neighbors on both sides of the street who have five cars and they each have a double driveway yet they park on the street all the time. If they could park on the street 24 hours a day, they would never move their cars. If I have company they have to park down the street as there is no room close to my home. Some people are just too lazy to move their cars.
