Tonawanda News — This is to Third Ward Councilman John J. Hall where he says that he would like to see dogs be able to walk all around the river at Niawanda Park. Good one councilman. Now instead of geese droppings, there will be dog droppings because most people still do not pick up after their dogs and they let them go by the bandshell in Niawanda Park where there’s concerts and children play. Not a good idea, sir.

To the protesting teachers at the North Tonawanda Middle School. Check the ranking out guys. We’re 12th in salary, and the middle school is ranked 133rd in Western New York. Instead of sitting in your lawn chairs and coming in together at the appointed time, why don’t you help out the kids? Because you always say it’s about the kids — until it’s contract time, and then it’s all about the money.

It is a cheap liberal trick to abolish tenure. Many teachers are middle-aged, unmarried women without any security besides their jobs. Parents of uneducable students want a scapegoat for their children’s inability to learn. By denying tenure to these women, they are creating an atmosphere of terror whereby they can demand the inflation of grades and promoting for those who should not be in school. It is time to face reality that the failure to succeed in school is that of children and their parents.
