Tonawanda News — So, a reader wants to praise Scott Leffler on his piece criticizing the Republicans for the deal Obama made for the prisoner. Do either one of you Einsteins realize that he walked away from his post and that six of our brave, I repeat brave soldiers lost their lives searching for him. One had a wife who was six months pregnant. It is not only the Republicans that are unhappy but his own party. You may think one soldier is worth five terrorists but I don’t believe a deserter’s life is worth even one of our bravest let alone six. He needs to be tried for treason. Obama has anointed himself king. What happened to we do not negotiate with traitors? Do you really believe that any of the five terrorists aren’t already plotting against us? The whole world is laughing at the U.S.
I agree with the caller about the garbage totes. What I do is not put my tote out the night before but put it out in the morning before going to work and bringing it back in as soon as possible. Because I got tired of people throwing dog poop and other stuff in my tote when I keep mine clean and my trash is in plastic bags. We also had problems with neighbors putting their extra trash in our tote at night. So this solved our problem.
I think that people that leave their garbage cans at the street or in their front yard on Tremont Street all week are lazy. It makes the area look like a ghetto. I called the N.T. Public Works Department several times and complained but nothing has been done about it.
N.T. regulations for garbage cans are nothing is to be placed at the curb for more than 24 hours prior to scheduled pick up day. Tremont Street between Payne and Vandervoort must be the exception to city rules because their garbage cans remain at the curb or front yards year round. This is a great impression we present to travelers coming to the Riviera Theatre etc.
