Tonawanda News — I see in the paper that the mayor and council are taking credit for the Calgon Corporation moving into the wastewater treatment plant in North Tonawanda. Mayor Soos signed a contract seven years ago for the same thing. I wonder what's taking so long and why they haven't given any credit for actually putting the thing in place.

How is it that the millionaires and CEOs and politicians are always the ones that want to get rid of Social Security and Medicare and all of that stuff for the poor people? I think if they want to get rid of the security pension, then nobody should get a pension.

We just had our street repaved about a year ago at Highland Avenue in North Tonawanda. Somebody came in and dug up the street to fix a water problem or something, I don't know, it's either the city DPW or a private company. They filled in the hole and put blacktop over it. That road is like a sinkhole now. Whoever did this repair should be required to repair it immediately.

In response to dropping the parking ban in the City of Tonawanda. If the police have problems with complaints about neighbors now, they haven't seen anything yet and they know it. Not every neighbor is a considerate neighbor. It would be a wonderful world if that were the true case. It's not. Families with five or six cars would be parked all over the place and more than likely not in front of their own house. At least with the ban on, you know at some point during the day or night the car will be removed. Start thinking outside the box and you'll see all this will cause is more trouble. Problem being inconsiderate people.

Now that the speed limit on Niagara Street has been lowered, what about the speed limit on bike paths? Some of those bicyclists go through there very fast and it's just a matter of time before someone gets hit and seriously injured!
