Tonawanda News — I totally agree with the caller regarding including North Tonawanda in the summer garden tours.  I think it would be great for the city and there are many residents who would love to participate. Let’s make this happen. It’s been a longtime coming.

Common Core is no school curriculum but a national emergency. The money troubled states jumped on the bandwagon for what was a contrived “race to the top” contest. They were promised big money if they would use the government curriculum Common Core, instead of the state version they were using. Most states accepted the money and the federal curriculum sight unseen. No more critical and original thinking by children will be allowed. They will be dumbed down. Gifted and slower children will be lost as dreams and uniqueness are exchanged for sameness and compromise. Common Core is “one size fits all” anti-American and anti-truth. This is a national emergency that will completely seal America’s future if this is allowed to continue. Call your schools, take a bold stand against this and save your children.

I understand they want to raise the gas tax 12 cents. Well, if they got $2 billion for a stadium and New York state is the most highly taxed state in the country, let’s find out the names of these people who want to raise these taxes. And if Governor Cuomo can give this state away to new corp for zero tax for 10 years, I think it’s time to really look into the names of these people who want to raise taxes again in Western New York.
