Tonawanda News — Friday evening I was over at the North Tonawanda Memorial pool when they had a fire, and I couldn’t help but notice that all the adults that they hired for staff, the lifeguards and everything, had that whole pool evacuated in less than a minute. Everybody was out. I just wanted to say what an outstanding staff they have over there. They had everybody out before the fire department even showed up. It was a terrific job by the staff of the North Tonawanda Youth and Recreation Department.

I wish I knew which City Hall idiot thought up this ridiculous recycling totes. Our house has five newspapers and two or three jars a week. We are in our 80s and are not strong anymore. We will now put our recycling in our garbage, and this green monstrosity can rot into the ground. Shame on you City Hall for forcing this terrible thing on us.

Because of the deer becoming a nuisance problem in North Tonawanda, many deer were killed to thin out the deer population. I heard a rumor that many of these deer were discovered to have babies inside of them. I think this should be investigated. This is cruel and wicked. Is it necessary to do this when the mothers are pregnant or could other methods be used?

Boy it was nice to see former Tonawanda Councilwoman Lanette Ryan’s feisty article in the paper about parking the other day, too bad she wasn’t that feisty when she was on the council. Things could have gotten done.

How many more years does the high school have to go to Art Park? You have an alumni building, use it and save taxpayers money. Come on school board, wake up and smell taxpayers’ money going up in smoke.
