Tonawanda News — I called several weeks ago about possibly putting some signs up to warn people or strangers about the geese on Sweeney Street. Give them a chance to live like we do the deer.

Have any city officials been down to Niawanda Park? All the dog poop you can’t walk anywhere near there, on the rocks or anything. It’s loaded with dog poop. It’s disgusting you can’t even walk down there.

Hey guys. This T-NT alumni game was a group of “has beens” and “never was” trying to recapture their glory years in high school where if they were a little bigger than the next kid, the were considered stars. Hang it up guys and let the high school kids play.

Where were the police and security at the Tea Party concert? Pot smoking and drugs all over the place and no one stops anything! Free concerts bring trash to the city. Is it worth it?

The complaints are roaring over the George Zimmerman verdict. It’s the same reaction that was heard here after Dr. Corasanti was found not guilty. Our justice system is designed to work and did in both cases. The jury can only decide based upon the evidence that was presented. If the prosecution did a poor job of presenting the case it isn’t the fault of the jury. We need to stop treating the district attorney’s office as an entry level job and pay real money to these attorneys. Erie and Niagara counties are full of first and second year attorneys presenting cases against some real criminals who will go free because of their inexperience in prosecuting. As soon as they get some experience they leave to make money in private practice. I don’t blame them one bit, they have families and bills to pay. We need to do something to retain experienced attorneys.

The City of North Tonawanda is starting to look like a big billboard with signs everywhere. We had visitors from other states and they all commented about all the eye pollution throughout the city. I know we need blood but do we need 5 signs in groups everywhere in the city? Niagara County groups are now putting up signs everywhere. Garage sale signs stay up well past the dates listed. I always thought that the land between the street and the sidewalks belongs to the city and it was illegal to post signs on public property. I believe that the city fathers should pass some sort of ordinance and address this form of eye pollution. This would force them to pay for ads that would help the local news.

I attended the T-NT alumni game and it was very entertaining and hard-fought between the two teams. It was great to see some of the stars from yesteryear like the Day brothers and Joe Kusmierski get back on the field with some of the most recent stars like Tom Sell and “X-Factor” Nelson.
