Tonawanda News — If you believe these people who keep writing in and maybe it is Mayor Soos himself. That keep writing in to tell us that ex-mayor Soos was responsible for all of these projects that are now in effect. My question would be, how come he never got anything going?

To the taxpayers in the City of Tonawanda, I am glad there is a no vote on the houses up on Little League Drive. Why should they get cheaper taxes because somebody says they are going to fix the streets and they’re going to plow the snow and all that. I bet within five years, the city will be doing all the work for them. We taxpayers have to make up the difference in taxes. Your taxes are going to go up higher. So 15-20 years from now, we’ll all be dead or in a home who knows. Let the city worry about it then. Right now they shouldn’t let anybody have it for less than 100 percent. Everybody else has to pay a 100 percent, why not them. Please vote no, don’t let it pass. I’m glad Carleton Zeisz has changed his mind for the time being.

If you live in North Tonawanda on East Robinson or Wheatfield between Oliver and the Twin Cities, there are clearly posted no trucks over 5 tons. Yet, tractor trailers still go down those streets. For you homeowners, when your sewer lines collapse or your water lines get damaged, it’s from those heavy trucks driving down the street. Call the police when there’s a tractor trailer on the street cause they are not allowed to be there. It’s also why we need to keep repaving it. The road is not made for tractor trailers and the police should be ticketing those truck drivers.

Are you having Thanksgiving dinner with your family? Greedy corporate leaders are too but their employees aren’t. Everyone should stay at home Thanksgiving Day and NOT shop at the stores that are opening a day early for Black Friday. Let the employee’s spend the day with their family.

Stray cats do not choose to be stray! Stupid and irresponsible pet owners are the reason these cats are stray. The people who own cats and allow them to go outside when they are not spayed or neutered are the reason these cats are homeless. If you choose to own a cat, take responsibility for your choice. If you are going to allow your cat outside, get them fixed! A male cat that is allowed to go outside will get female cats pregnant! Those females will have their babies outside, no matter what the weather. A stray female doesn’t get enough nutrition and their kittens will not survive or they will freeze to death. The kittens that survive will get pregnant and have more unwanted babies! That is not fair to animals that didn’t choose to be outside! So if you have a cat and you choose to let it outside, get it fixed! End the cycle of unloved strays, they deserve better!
