Tonawanda News — Interesting: The News first reports that two blocks of Grove Street in Tonawanda will be paved this year, when the whole street is deplorable. Then a correction is reported. Only one block of Grove Street will be paved. The block that the councilwoman lives on. Hmm.

Eighth Avenue residents don’t worry about the condition of your street filled with potholes and looking like a ghetto. Your street is not on the list to be repaired. Live with it or move to your politician’s neighborhood. Good luck.

This morning, as happy as I was to see crews fixing potholes on Niagara Street near Isle View Park, I had to stop and ponder, while stuck in a mile long line of cars. Who in the world is the rocket scientist who actually scheduled the road repairs for 8 a.m. on Monday morning? Really? Someone was sitting somewhere laughing at all of us working class folks wasting time and gas sitting there in traffic. Was 10 a.m. not a good time?  How about 1 or 3 p.m., but 8? Come on!

This message is in response to two articles in Sound Off. This is in response to the Sound Off about Nash Road being blacktopped. DPW is out and are repairing the grates and that has to be done before the road can be repaved. Before you call Sound Off and complain about it being a political pat on the back you should research your subject. The second issue is about them being too lazy to pick up the branches. They are instructed not to bend over and pick up the branches simply because North Tonawanda is self-insured. We do not want them bending over and picking up branches because we do not want their back injury on the taxpayers’ back. It would be easier if you bundle your small branches.
