Tonawanda News — What’s going on with the people in New Jersey who lost power, it’s just totally ridiculous. What’s wrong with this government? They’re only worried about themselves and how much money they can get out of it. Do they help people? No. It’s getting very cold and the snow is coming. These people need help.

I have nothing against trees but remember the damage they can cause in the distant future. Buckled sidewalk and roads. Who will pay for that in the future? The taxpayer of course. I believe the money spent can be for better things in the city. Or plant them along River Road if at all.

The newspapers say Obama is going to meet with members of Congress to talk about the “fiscal cliff.”  Of course, we know that he will have the usual “request” — in other words, his way or the highway. He won’t give in, but he expects Congress to back down, but he’ll accuse them of wanting it to be their way or the highway! Strange, isn’t it? Not really, not coming from Obama.

I’m calling to find out why they’re even counting the votes in Florida. Obama already won the election. Why are they wasting the money counting votes in Florida? Obama already won the presidency. Stop wasting the money.

To the person who called in bashing George Maziarz, I hope you saw the article on page one the day it ran. Mayor Dyster thanks Maziarz, Ceretto for making state aide possible. It’s time for us to quit being Democrats and Republicans and be Americans. I voted for Maziarz and Obama. It’s time to quit the petty squabbling.
