Tonawanda News — I thought the signals on the Twin Cities Memorial Highway were supposed to be synced but when I get a green light at Wheatfield or Tremont I hit red lights all the way down. Even when there are no cars at Christiana or Schenk the light still turns red. There was construction going on all summer and I thought it was for the signals. Any answers?

It used to be when you said you didn’t celebrate Christmas people criticized you, even claiming you weren’t “Christian.” Now it seems more people are saying that is the smart sensible thing.  Sometimes they even say they wish they didn’t have to be tied down to this crazy madness. People used to claim they celebrated Christmas because of Christ. They don’t even pretend anymore.  Nowhere is there any mention of Christ. Christmas has nothing to do with Christ. I am sure Jesus is glad not to be associated with this frenzy.

The sports teams do not bring tourists into the region for very long. They come, watch the game and go home. For the little amount of money it costs us taxpayers much more to support these teams than the area makes. As taxpayers we don’t see any of that. We who live around here can’t even take our families to a game because it’s so costly. I think, along with the other people, get rid of them.

The Republicans say they will not vote for any tax increases but instead eliminate the deductions the middle class takes. Isn’t that a tax increase on the middle class? Who do the Republicans think they’re fooling, anyway?

This is for Time Warner. When are they going to put some decent programs on the GSN game channels? All we get are repeats and those we have on now stink. We pay good money to watch them. We need new shows and contestants. Can anyone do anything about this? I think this is hopeless and useless. I’m watching to see if you put this in. Many times you don’t put these in. I dare you to put this one in.
