The Tonawanda News

Tonawanda News — Bishop Gibbons Apartments had a wonderfully caring and locally raised manager, for most of its existence. A couple of years ago, the property went under different management and the caring manager was replaced with a person who doesn’t like elderly people, let alone understand them. We lost a lot with that change.

Once the election is over, Mitt Romney’s high-priced accounting firm will submit an amended return to get him back the amount he overpaid for taxes because they purposely reduced the amount of contribution he took credit for. Their “gimmick” of not claiming the entire deduction so he wouldn’t sound like a liar for claiming he paid more tax this year than he was actually responsible for. He said he wouldn’t be presidential quality if he didn’t pay all the taxes he should pay nor if he paid more than he had to. Instead he shouldn’t be president because, as he did with his Bain Capital work, he manipulates — and pays an accounting firm to manipulate — the numbers to have them back up what he says. Why should we believe anything he says?

The time has come for everybody to vote Mayor Pilozzi out of office. I’ve noticed there’s nothing left in the city any more.

I would like to know why Hillary Clinton wants to send Egypt $1.2 billion? Our country can’t give away money like that, we’re too much in debt.

Pamela Geller is wonderful, her campaign placing ads on the New York City subways is a stroke of genius. Hopefully we can do the same here.

I’m reading in the paper about the consulate attack in Libya now called terrorism. Back in the Bush era when we had a terrorist attack we created a new terror defense agency called the Department of Homeland Security, which went hand in hand with the NIA and FBI and CIA and so on. Perhaps now with a new terrorist attack we can create a new agency and spend several billion more in wasted money, which our government has so much of because they take it from us.

I’ve been reading about how this politician wants you to lose weight, this politician doesn’t want you to drink so much. Well this is supposed to be a free country. A free country. FREE country. And soon enough they’ll be telling us what to wear and when to go to the bathroom. I think it’s time someone steps up to the plate and tells them legislators: watch your own weight and what you drink and cut down on some of this spending and help the poor taxpayers.

North Tonawanda should be renamed the capital of handicapped hang-tags. When are the police going to start writing tickets to all of these people, which is the highest majority in North Tonawanda, for driving with them hanging down? The instructions specifically say they’re for display when parking only. We could get a lot of revenue out of that.
