Tonawanda News — These eating contests have to go. It is just disgusting. Who wants to watch people down chicken wings and eat all this food. It’s so disgusting it isn’t funny. I don’t know why they do it and I don’t know why anybody would want to do it. They have to go. They just have to go.

Hey people in Tonawanda, don’t get your gas from Tops for 10 cents off after spending $100. Go out to the reservation. It’s 30 or 35 cents less.

How many city workers in the City of Tonawanda does it take to change a light bulb? Answer? Eight.

I’m calling about Jill Keppeler. I think she’s the most refreshing columnist in the paper. I think she’s just wonderful. And I think Eric DuVall is very biased for Obama and ignorant.

I’m reading Scott Leffler’s column. Maybe he’s just quoting what people are saying, but I think Scott is mistaken. I would not jump off a cliff for Clinton, for a cheat and someone who would do that to a young girl in the White House. Slaughter referring to him as a national treasure is just ridiculous. I don’t have any respect for him. They don’t call him Slick Willy for nothing. He comes across the boob tube as a slick pool hall Willy.

I would like to know how Biden and Obama can stand up there and lie about the jobs they’ve created, lie about the employment rate. How can it be? How can they do it when the statistics are all over. They say they did this and that. It’s just ridiculous. I don’t understand where people’s minds are.

Kudos to the North Tonawanda Mayor and members of the Council. It seems like every week I am reading articles highlighting exciting new businesses coming into our wonderful city. The improvements are evident in the downtown area as well are the outskirts of town. The big challenge left is Oliver Street, and I’d love to see that cleaned up and reestablished as the cultural and business area it once was. Say what you want about the history of bars on Oliver St., those bars had some of the best food around as well as great music and friendly atmosphere. OLC is a beautiful church. With it’s cathedral looking interior and stunning facade, it can’t be beat. This Administration has done so much, I know Oliver Street can be brought back also.

Hats off to the North Tonawanda Police officer who wrote parking tickets on November 1st in a residential neighborhood, for of all reasons parking after Nov. 1 until April 15th. That same day the a fundraiser for the NTPD came in the mail and it made it to the garbage on November 2nd. Officer would it been better for community relations to write a note? What a dope.
