Tonawanda News — To the person who said that the City of Tonawanda does not have any concerts: Come to Niawanda Park. There are concerts at the bandshell.

When will people begin to call the new health insurance by it’s proper name, the Affordable Care Act, instead of Obamacare? I guess when it becomes successful and they don’t want to give Obama the credit for it. Also, people keep on asking where are the jobs? They are in China where the rich CEOs of this country sent them. Now, let’s give them a tax break for looking out for you.

I am wondering, why can’t we regionalize departments such as fire and police? They are regionalized down south in such cities as Charlotte and Jacksonville, and both of those cities are growing and in much better financial shape than we are. It would really be nice to see the Tonawandas try this. What do we really have to lose other than a potential for more affordable taxes?

To the person who says President Obama is driving doctors out of business, I would like to see his proof. There are so many people lying about the health care bill because they hate the president. I just want to ask the caller one question, if your insurance company dropped you or you lost your job along with your insurance, would an insurance company cover you knowing that you have a pre-existing condition, in this case cancer? People who don’t think they could ever lose their insurance are living in a fairy tale. It can happen and when it does, families can lose everything due to the out of pocket cost of medical care. Under Obamacare, people with pre-existing conditions will be able to get affordable healthcare. As for myself, as a moral and intelligent person, I realize this is a good thing.
