Tonawanda News — Did you happen to hear Obama’s speech at the church in Boston? He was speaking to the media about the Marathon Bombing. Totally inappropriate! He sounded like he was a gym teacher at a pep rally. I think even the poor people in the church were befuddled by Obama’s speech. Mark my words; he will have this terrorist that lived made out to be a victim and a hero before too long. Mark it down.

April 23 is the big day. The lawnmower man is back in action at Tonawanda City Hall. He can’t wait to cut the nice green grass all the way down to the dirt already this season. Can somebody please talk to him about going right down to the dirt.

Several years back speculators pushed the price of a barrel of oil to over $140. The result was gasoline prices blossoming to $4 a gallon. We were outraged. Now a barrel of oil has fallen to $88. Isn’t it great to know the price of gasoline has dropped more than 20 cents. A 50 percent drop in the cost of oil. A 5 percent drop in the cost of gasoline. I guess big oil does run this country.

I called in a nice big Sound Off about the truth about Sarah Palin and have yet to see it in the paper. Yet, every day I see six, seven or eight bad articles about the president. None of these things are true, but yet you put them all in the paper. What is going on Sound Off?

For the article in the paper today about Higgins and the Great Lakes, why doesn’t it mention the billions in the fund for the Great Lakes for dredging, fisheries and everything else. The money is just sitting there. Why don’t they use it? I don’t think the money is there anymore. I think the politicians stole it. They ought to talk about that and get it in the open.

I love to hear Republicans make fools of themselves in Sound Off.

What’s going on with North Korea? You don’t hear so much since the bombs in Boston and that broad who killed her boyfriend. And that factory that exploded in Texas. What about North Korea? They were going to nuke us. What’s going on? Is it being swept under the rug as usual?

Isn’t there anybody in the City of Tonawanda that can run for office who doesn’t owe Mayor Pilozzi a favor or Gayle Syposs a favor. We have to get some different people in office so something can be done for the public. Not just build, build, build, spend, spend, spend.

Please remember, the person calling about the drug activity and where the police are. They can’t be every place, everywhere. If you have a scanner, listen to where they are all the time: Up and down Oliver Street. Me? I wouldn’t want to be an officer in North Tonawanda. It’s a very tough job. They are a heck of a lot busier than the fire department could ever imagine being. They just sit in the hall waiting for first aid calls. Give respect more to the policemen and give a tip of the hat to them. They work hard, harder than people give them credit for.
