Tonawanda News — I would just like to know if the city is going to do anything with the docks down where the new restaurant is. They got it fixed up really nice with all that money, but the other end of the slips are all deteriorating very bad. I just wondered if they’re going to fix them or let somebody get hurt.

I was reading a story about a Salamanca principal who was relieved of his duty four years ago on charges of harassment. For four years, he has been essentially on administrative leave. He has received full pay. That full pay was $104,000 a year. Since he’s been on leave, the amount has gone up to $116,000 a year. So he received approximately a 10 percent raise on $100,000 a year and he isn’t doing anything. What’s wrong with this picture? He has received $442,000 of tax-payer money, and we wonder why school budgets are on the rise.

New York state is only one of four states in the United States that has fireworks banned for individuals. I have been to other states where the fireworks were much better than the ones we have down by the river in North Tonawanda. They were so much nicer and no one here is getting hurt year after year.

I know it’s not right to use racial slurs. However they are really making this a big deal with this Paula Deen thing. Wait isn’t it the something when white people are called “honkeys” and other names, isn’t that a racial slur? I see black comedians say these things all the time, making fun of white people, how come no one is making a big deal about that?

Here’s one for Eric DuVall. You know how they are always trying to close our Niagara Falls air base? Since they are trying to cut costs to save money. But here’s Cuomo giving all these offers for bringing in business here, giving them incentives to come. Yet you want to close our air base.
