The Tonawanda News

Tonawanda News — Mayor Ortt and his publicity machine’s credo “never let a good deed go unnoticed.”

Glad to see that the Meadow Drive extension is proceeding. Curious to notice that it comes with sidewalks. Here’s a fun fact: No one lives there! Too bad more effort couldn’t have been exercised in areas where people actually live with regard to sidewalk upkeep. I guess the old saying is still true, “The only time NT wants to know Martinsville is when the tax bills are due.”

To the person who likes to falsely smear someone’s reputation. I wasn’t president of CSEA during the first 3 1/2 years of Mayor Ortt’s 4-year term, so I wasn’t responsible for union decisions in NT. As far as when and why I decided to retire, I’m glad you know because I hadn’t made up my mind until recently. So check your facts the next time you make false accusations.

To the leaders of North Tonawanda, I found it very disrespectful that the flags in our city were not flown at half-staff in honor of the anniversary of the assassination of a great American, John F. Kennedy. When I called the mayor’s office to inquire about this, the person in the mayor’s office I spoke with didn’t even know what I was talking about. The whole world knows about this date, except the leaders of the city we call home. Shame on you North Tonawanda.
