The Tonawanda News
Tonawanda News — I just moved here to North Tonawanda on Oliver Street and I gotta say there are some nice places to get food on Webster. I’ll tell you one that’s better: Betty’s over on River Road. Best roast beef sandwich I’ve ever had. You get a side of chips and a pickle. Thanks a lot, North Tonawanda.
I’d like to say, where are the other countries helping us with Hurricane Sandy? I haven’t heard one country helping us with it. Every time something else happens in another country we send money. We help them, they don’t help us. It’s time to stop.
I’m calling about Hostess and the union workers who bankrupted the country. More companies should do this. The workers were making $26 an hour and wanted more money. Them workers got what they deserved and now they’re out of a job. They’re going to have a tough time finding a new job making that kind of money.
I agree with the person who called in about the football players’ hair. They look more like million-dollar rock stars than they do football players.
How nice the council and mayor can give the developer of Little League Drive incentives to sell their homes. They’ll sell from $180,000 to $200,000. But because they will have a homeowners association to care for some of the services needed, the city will only charge 60 percent of taxes. I know a lot of developments that have associations but still pay 100 percent of taxes. It will be interesting to see how many council members or their families buy houses on Little League Drive.
