The Tonawanda News

Tonawanda News — The employment picture is in a bad light and after seeing a link in to enroll in a PBX Switchboard Operator course to begin Jan. 13 and/or in June within the Tonawanda/Buffalo area, I became interested in enrolling. After e-mailing Monster, they could not provide any further information. Does anyone know of a school that is offering this type of course? Any information in response would be appreciated.

I read the recent article on Mayor Ortt’s practice of giving retirement incentive bonuses to employees who are retiring. This is supposed to save taxpayer money by having people placed in these positions for less money. That is a joke! The most recent retirees, Larry Kuebler and Robert Sondel, were retiring anyway and this “gift” served no purpose but to line the pockets of loyal political friends. Who the heck got $20,000 last year? Kuebler was the CSEA president who let Ortt run roughshod over the union cutting positions and Sondel was complicit in allowing the city to do it.

My wife and I, along with friends, attended the Veterans Day tribute at the Tonawanda Castle. It was a wonderful evening and tribute to our veterans. The Vets H.E.R.D. foundation is providing a great service for our veterans by helping them rebuild their lives. Thank you Vets H.E.R.D. and the Castle.

I was glad to see that the City of Tonawanda voters did vote out a lot of the incumbents. Must be a lot of money in these political offices for them to fight so hard and spend so much money to get elected. Just think about it. Glad to see we have new people coming in.
