Tonawanda News — Red light cameras are one of the dumbest ideas I have ever heard of. And I have lived in the Tonawandas for 75 years. Wake up Tonawanda and reject this stupid money grab.

I’ve been reading about traffic signal cameras coming into town. I’ve heard the pros and the cons from many different people. Seems we have a city divided once again on a subject. Let me ask you all this: Don’t you think that installing these cameras would, after a couple of tickets are passed out, curtail the people who like to push the envelope on traffic laws and run the “hard yellow” or the “just turned red.” Nothing has happened ... yet. No accidents, no one injured, nothing ... yet. What a reassuring bet. What hasn’t happened yet does not mean it can’t.

Mr. DuVall’s column was very interesting praising Cuomo while putting Christie down for bridge gate. First of all, I do not condone what Christie’s staffers, I repeat Christie’s staffers did. Let us count, fast and furious where border agents died, Benghazi where four Americans died, NSA scandal, IRS scandal, spying on Fox News reporters, not once did our commander-in-chief step up and say the buck stops here. I wasn’t doing my job. Hillary and Obama just avoid the issues which in my opinion were far more serious. Christie has more credibility than Hillary, Obama and the rest of his administration combined. He stood up and took the blame, not like our president.
