Tonawanda News — Mr. Nickerson, who are you trying to kid? The biggest reason for Ms. Alexander getting the assistant city attorney job is pure politics. You failed to mention that she serves as Senator Maziarz’s public relations person and special counsel. Nice to see that politics trumps qualifications and that the Senator still controls NT government and your office.

What ever happened to the old days when libraries were supposed to be quiet. I was in the library the other day and a bunch of school kids were running around screaming and yelling. Don’t they have a special kids area for that with a door that can be kept closed? And do the employee’s have to yap so loud on the phone that everybody can hear their private conversations? I mean really!

Sadly, Erie County entered into an agreement with the Friends of Ellicott Island to allow a no leash dog area which encompasses the entire island. I have owned dogs for years and have found that most people don’t have any training for their dogs and as a result these dogs are unmanageable. I like to paint and draw on the island but have become tired of having dogs jump on me. At least when there were leash law provisions there was some recourse. Supposedly this organization has to maintain liability insurance. Good Luck with that!
