The Tonawanda News

Tonawanda News — I’m writing in response to the Oct. 10 post of a man who wants the paper to print the addresses of citizens arrested in the City of Tonawanda, and says, “protect the innocent not the guilty.” I don’t know what you know about the country you live in, but not every person arrested is guilty or a criminal. There’s a little something called presumption of innocence, look that up. I love reading uneducated entries!

Everyday I read something in the paper about the Middle East and war. Does the government think we’re stupid? They just want us to go to war all the time and sticking our nose where we’re not wanted or needed. All it is, is politicians’ greed. They all have stock in the companies that make guns and weapons. They get rich and the middle class gets poor.

This in response to brilliant Bob Confer’s column printed Oct 9. Bob takes three full columns of print throwing numbers and percentages around regarding the financing of high school athletics. When it’s all said and done Bob is in favor of cutting all high school sports because of the savings to the districts and the return of tax dollars to residents of those districts. Using Bob’s facts and figures, an average family of four in the Roy-Hart district would save $92 a year, while in Williamsville the savings per family would total $80 yearly. Holy smokes! “Hold on honey, we may just be able to afford that yacht after all!”
