The Tonawanda News

Tonawanda News — I find it amazing that Republicans are so worried about Iran getting a Nuclear weapon when VP Cheney’s company Halliburton illegally supplied nuclear components for nuclear weapons! Yes, using subsidiaries in other countries they bypassed US sanctions in order to Illegally supply Iran with nuclear capabilities! Why are there not people in jail because of this treason? Cheney personally benefits from war, why do you think that they are constantly trying to start them? He should be in jail, but instead he gets a new heart. This is ridiculous and there should be consequences. Serious consequences.

So Eric DuVall. Really? Obama’s winning this ...? Unbelievable. You’re just grabbing at straws. A little pressure, Eric, and you’re just using anything you can to get this person re-elected.

•••

I’m geting sick and tired of the news forever bashing Mitt Romney. If DuVall ever had anything decent to say about anybody, we would be very surprised.

•••

To the person who called about Mayor Pilozzi trying to keep all entertainment out of the City of Tonawanda, they had nice band music all summer long on Sundays from about 7 to 9 p.m. So this person is very misinformed.

•••

Sorry. Mitt Romney, you cannot be president of these United States if you take your business profits and move them out of this country. It may be legal, but it is un-American.

•••

Is it true that the person who purchased the Ascension school building plans to turn it into a home for wayward teens? Here we go again. We don’t need more trouble makers in our fair city.

You had a message in your Sound Off last night about no fishing signs being posted on the new fishing pier at Gratwick park. That is absolutely not true the only signs there refer to no swimming and no boating. Please make that correction so the kids don’t get confused.

As far as Walmart hiring someone who is not from North Tonawanda as a manager, that’s because there was no one qualified in North Tonawanda who applied for the job as a manager. So they took someone with experience and unfortunately there was a problem with him. They do background checks and everyone does, but every once in a while something slips by. Stop griping. What a bunch of fools.

I was really disappointed to see that two seventh grade girls were pulled up from the JV soccer team to play in a varsity game in Tonawanda. It seems like it would be a wiser choice to pull up some of the 10th graders on the JV team considering these girls will have to play varsity next year. These girls have put a lot into the soccer team to deserve a chance to play.
