The Tonawanda News
Tonawanda News — I was at the Tonawanda football opening game on Sept. 13. I am dismayed at the fact that there was a man down on the field and it took the ambulance 30 minutes to get to the field, and then they couldn’t even drive onto the field to get this player. You have to be kidding me. If I was this player’s parents I would not be happy. What happened to an ambulance being at the field for that just-in-case moment? You have a beautiful field. Let’s keep Tonawanda’s good name to go with it.
Our hearts and prayers go out to the family of Doug Vaillancourt. I hope the NT community will be there should they need anything. We are heartbroken just knowing what the family must be going through. Pray for them to have strength. Doug was much too young to leave us. God Bless.
Let’s see, Blake Boyle says he will run again in 2015, yet he doesn’t say what party line he’ll run on. He’s a common council Democrat today, has run as a Republican several times, lost the Democratic line this time around for helping Republicans, and says he’ll support the Republican for his seat this fall. While it is his right to change parties any number of times, it seems to me that the result is transactional politics at the expense of principles, with no real ideology whatsoever. I would beware returning such political cynicism to public office in Tonawanda.
I would like to congratulate Jackie Smilinich on her win in the Democratic primary. She by far is the best candidate in “all” of the Tonawandas and we wish her luck in the future. I’m hoping that the Sound Off and Eric DuVall start publishing positive things about candidates versus the continued negativity.
