Sound Off published Sept. 26

The Tonawanda News

Tonawanda News — This is in regards to the Sound Off to the person who’s worried about the looks of other people’s backyards: Why don’t you mind your own business? If you pay their property taxes then you can talk. Otherwise, mind your own business.

I can’t believe the Tonawanda mayor would close off Young Street for a restaurant. That’s a slap in the face to taxpayers and I hope it won’t cost me any money. Are all you other taxpayers happy about this? I think it stinks.

•••

The Clint Small Stadium, the new one, is wonderful but the speakers are too loud. The whole city doesn’t want to hear play-by-play of the game. Please turn it down.

•••

I’d like to know why North Tonawanda police don’t report in the paper these home break-ins and their locations. It would be better if they put it in the paper so people are aware.

•••

I didn’t realize we have another group home in North Tonawanda on Miller and Payne. I witnessed some gruesome activity where one of the youths couldn’t be contained. It took several police officers and two paramedics. What is going on with North Tonawanda? I thought we were supposed to vote on a group home. I’m really disgusted. My kids aren’t safe in that area anymore, I guess.

I am so excited about the fresh new approach of Alderman Clark on the council. It’s about time we got a breath of fresh air in there. I think he’s going to do wonders for the city. I think he’s got fresh new ideas we sorely need. Also, I loved the article in the paper about him donating the portion of the Twin Towers to the city. It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you, Alderman Clark, you certainly have my vote in November.

I want to address the issue of obesity. Yes, it’s a problem but the last time I heard obesity isn’t a national problem, it’s a personal problem. If these people don’t have the sense to come in out of the rain that’s their decision. It certainly is not the government. It certainly is not Michelle Obama’s problem. Quit trying to take our rights away from us. Leave us alone. Obesity doesn’t affect me, thank God, but they just need to be educated, not preached to.

•••

Why are they worried about sending people over to Syria to be killed? They’re shooting people in this country every day.

•••

Don’t be fooled about the Syria thing. The only reason the United States cares anything about Syria is connected to Iran and it’s all about oil.

Is it the same two or three NT Democrats who constantly whine in Sound Off. I can’t or won’t believe most Democrats can’t see the current mayor and council know how to work on the same page to get stuff done with less people. I don’t care who claims to have started a project. If you can’t work together to get stuff done what good will you be? Now let’s get to work on the water/sewer bills.
