BOWLING: Hyland, Kustich roll 300s at TBC

Bob Hyland Jr. and John Kustich each rolled perfect 300 games and Donn Schubert nearly turned the trick, finishing with a 299, to highlight the first week of the Tonawanda USBC City Championship tournament at the Tonawanda Bowling Center.
During the opening ceremonies on may 6, a dozen members of the Tonawanda High School championships girls and boys bowling teams rolled a mass “first ball” at the 42-lane bowling emporium.
Competition continues nightly through May 16.
Heading into the second week, the leaders of the divisions are as follows: Gerfin open team with handicap — Home Improvement, 3,710; women’s team with handicap — Bus Babes, 3,514; scratch team — Lancaster Pro Shop No. 1, 3,374; open doubles with handicap — Alex Urbino Jr./Sal Puleo, 1,519; women’s doubles with handicap — Samantha Kagskorn/Lauran Sutton, 1,324; mixed doubles with handicap — Barbara Dojnik/Jeff Chambers, 1,444; scratch doubles — Mark Frawley/Pat Brick, 1,434; women’s scratch doubles — Carrie Racsumberger/Cincy Carroll, 1,292; open singles with handicap — Anthony J. Marchese, 837; women’s singles with handicap — Barbara Dojnik, 782; scratch singles — Joe Schillace, 729; women’s scratch singles — Cindy Carroll, 671; open all-events with handicap — Chris Bahleda, 2,280; women’s all-events with handicap — Lori Digati, 2,149; scratch all-events — Ron Sutton, 2,145; women’s scratch all-events — Cindy Carroll, 1,958.
