EXPO: Town golf dome will be swinging with vendors

The weather’s starting break and area golf courses are opening up. If you’re looking to test out some new clubs, the Paddock Chevrolet Golf Dome in the Town of Tonawanda would be a good place to check out today and Saturday.

Pro Discount Golf shop is hosting its annual Dome Fest, featuring more than a dozen golf equipment vendors who will be displaying their latest goods, which can be tested out in the dome for free.

There also will be community groups raffling items during the event, which tees off at 5 p.m. today and runs until 9 p.m., and continues from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

“Anybody looking to change their clubs or try a new style or brand, that’s the day to do it,” said Town of Tonawanda Councilman Dan Crangle.

Although the town does not sponsor Dome Fest, the event does bode well for the golf dome, which the town operates.

“Everybody comes out of the woodwork for (the event). As the weather’s breaking, people are itching to get out there and golf,” he said. “The vendors show off their new stuff and offer discount rates, and people who haven’t been in (the dome) can see what we have to showcase.”
