Schofield sets diabetes talk
Schofield Adult Wellness Center, 3333 Elmwood Ave., Kenmore, is hosting a free educational program on “Diabetes and Heart Disease” at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
People with diabetes are at far greater risk of having heart disease or a stroke. Registered dietitian Mary Degnan will lead the class and talk about the connection between diabetes and heart disease and more.

Scholarship available for high school senior
Housing Opportunities Made Equal will award a $1,000 scholarship to a high school senior in Erie or Niagara County who, in addition to academic achievement, has demonstrated a commitment to human rights.
Scholarship applications are due Feb. 17 with the winner recognized at the annual meeting April 29.
