Renaissance Club serves dinner
Spaghetti will be on the menu from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Renaissance Club, 252 Vandervoort St., North Tonawanda.
Ravioli, homemade soups and desserts can also be purchased for an additional charge. The club is open to the public.
This is the last spaghetti dinner for the season.
Mother’s Day events at Carrousel museum
The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum will host Mother’s Day events on Saturday and Sunday at the museum, 180 Thompson St., North Tonawanda.
Events on Saturday are from 1 to 3 p.m. and all children are invited to make a Mother’s Day present.
On Sunday from 12:30 to 2 p.m., families can enjoy live entertainment with DoDo who will perform magic tricks and make balloon animals. Guided tours will also be available. Children can make a last minute gift for mom as well.
All activities are included with paid admission of $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2.50 for children.

Police offer child passenger safety seat check
The North Tonawanda Police Department will conduct child passenger safety seat check from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at McDonald’s, 315 Meadow Drive, North Tonawanda.

Rummage sale planned at Sutherland Lodge
The Church at Shawnee Landing will host a giant rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Sutherland Lodge, 1400 Ruie Road, North Tonawanda.

Free PH soil testing set at library
Free PH soil testing for home gardens will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the North Tonawanda Public Library, 505 Meadow Drive.
Members of the Niagara County Cornell Cooperative Extension will offer the testing.
Participants should bring no more than two dry samples in Zip Lock bags. Registration is not required.
The testing is open to the public.

K of C plans Mother’s Day brunch
The Knights of Columbus Council No. 413 will host a Mother's Day brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the council, 55 Main St., City of Tonawanda.

The cost is $12.95 for adults, $6.95 for children ages 4 to 11, and free for children age 3 and under.

Workshop offered on primitive fire making
Heartwood Wilderness Skills School will present a workshop from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday on bow-drill and hand-drill fire at Kenneglenn Nature Preserve, three miles from East Aurora.
Learn how to make fire using two primitive methods. The cost is $30 adults and $15 teens.
