Flea market benefits historical society
The Historical Society of the Tonawandas will host its annual Canal Fest flea market from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Clinton Park, Clinton at Broad streets, City of Tonawanda.
Carole Barnard is chairperson. The largest fundraising effort of the year for the society, the sale benefits the Long Homestead and the museum on Main Street.
Legion hosts pancake breakfast
A pancake breakfast will be hosted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Tonawanda American Legion Post 264, 60 Main St., City of Tonawanda.
All are welcome.

Bugs focus of library program for kids
“Here a Bug, There a Bug” is the theme of a program for children in grades one to three set from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the North Tonawanda Public Library, 505 Meadow Drive.
Dress up like a bug or bring a picture of a bug to the event. Enjoy listening to the “A Diary of a Fly” and see what Fly and her friends Worm and Spider do all day. Afterwards, create your own unique bug.

St. Peter’s hosts Vacation Bible School
Son Harvest County Fair is the theme of the Vacation Bible School from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday through July 25 at St. Peter’s Church, 1208 Oliver St., North Tonawanda.
Crafts, games and music will be featured. The cost is $5 and covers all activities including at 5:30 p.m. dinner.

The class of 1966 from Niagara-Wheatfield High School will sponsor a family picnic at noon July 27 at Beaver Island State Park on Grand Island.
