Public meeting to discuss cost cuts
A meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Monday to give the public an opportunity to hear about a feasibility study to explore cost savings that may be realized with shared service initiatives between the City of Tonawanda School District and city.
The interactive presentation in common council chambers at city hall will last between 60 and 90 minutes.
Mayor Ron Pilozzi as well as representatives from the city, school district and Rochester-based Center for Governmental Research will be on hand.
CGR is a nonprofit organization specializing in working with clients by developing fact based, objective research and analysis, and making recommendations on improving organizational efficiency.

NORTH TONAWANDA
Parachute Group offers career help at YWCA
The Parachute Group, a networking group for individuals who are in career or job transition or have lost their jobs and would like to meet with individuals who are in the same situation, will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the YWCA of the Tonawandas, 49 Tremont St., North Tonawanda.
Guest speakers share tips and ideas. There are no fees or dues and registration is not required. Men and women are welcome.

Guitar Hero game time at library
Anyone in Grades 4 and up may join the Summer Guitar Hero event from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the North Tonawanda Public Library, 505 Meadow Drive.
Enjoy the Guitar Hero Playstation game. Refreshments will be provided.
No registration required.
