TONAWANDA
Chicken barbecue helps cheerleaders
A Chiavetta’s barbecue chicken dinner to benefit Tonawanda High School cheerleaders is planned from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the City of Tonawanda Police Station on Niagara Street.
Tickets are $8 and take out is available.

NORTH TONAWANDA
Guest storyteller to entertain at library
Children in first through third-grades are invited to join a guest storyteller from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the North Tonawanda Public Library, 505 Meadow Drive.
The event will feature an hour of buggy stories, activities, and crafts.

The event is funded by the Grigg-Lewis Foundation.

WHEATFIELD
Family picnic hosted at Fairmont Park
The Wheatfield family picnic will take place from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at Fairmont Park, Wheatfield.
Included are area food restaurants, civic groups, kids events, the Miss Wheatfield Scholarship Pageant and music, including the Bergholtz German Band and The A-List.
The main event is a free concert at 7 p.m. by the original members of The Lovin’ Spoonful, members of the rock and roll hall of fame and Top 10 artists from the 60s.

AIDS Community Services seeks volunteers
More than 50 volunteers are needed for Tea Time at the Victorian event on Saturday and Sunday during the annual garden walk in Buffalo.
The event, sponsored by AIDS Community Services, introduces programs and upcoming events to the public.
