Steve Tasker to visit Gateway concert
Former Buffalo Bills All-Pro Steve Tasker will be signing autographs from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Gateway Harbor Concert Series on Sweeney Street in North Tonawanda.
Tasker will be at the West Herr Ford of Amherst tent.
Beer will be served at the concert, which will feature the Diva Show and Black Widow.
UM church hosts senior lunch event
Young at Heart senior lunch program will meet at noon Aug. 27 at First United Methodist Church, Main and Tremont streets, North Tonawanda.
A picnic lunch will be served followed a program of playing paper games. A free will offering will be taken. All seniors 55 and older are welcome.

Downloadable audiobooks at library
The North Tonawanda Public Library now has downloadable audiobooks available free for library users through the library Web site, www.ntlibrary.org.
Click on the “Download Audiobooks” icon at the right of the screen and select from a wide variety of audiobooks that can be downloaded to your home computer or your MP3 player. Some titles may also be burned to CD.
However, the software is not compatible with Ipods or Apple computers.

Dom Polski offers pigs in a blanket dinner
A pigs in the blanket dinner will be hosted from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Dom Polski Hall, 576 Oliver St., North Tonawanda.
Tickets are $6, and includes pigs in a blanket, mashed potatoes, corn, bread and butter.
Men’s choral group set at DADC
The Bargemen, a well known men’s choral group directed by Gordon Tussing, will perform at 1:15 p.m. Friday at DeGraff Adult Day Care, 82 Mead St., North Tonawanda.
The group has performed throughout the area, including the Riviera Theatre in North Tonawanda.
The event is open to the public. Call 694-7662 to reserve a seat.
Polish-German Fest set at K of C
A Polish-German Fest, will take place Saturday at the Knights of Columbus Madonna Council No. 2535, 755 Erie Ave., North Tonawanda.
Doors open at 3 p.m. followed at 5 p.m. by dinner, music and dancing.
The Auslanders will provide German music and City Side will perform Polish music. A Polish-German buffet by Crownview Catering will be featured.
Presale tickets are $20, $25 at the door.

Concerts on Canal offers two shows
Diva Show will perform at 6 p.m. and Black Widow at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Gateway Harbor, North Tonawanda, as part of the Concerts on the Canal series.
The events are sponsored by Tonawandas Gateway Harbor Corporation.

Brighton Place hosts book sale
Hundreds of new books have been gathered for a book sale at Brighton Place, 999 Brighton Road, Town of Tonawanda.
Children’s fiction and non-fiction books, adult fiction including authors such as James Patterson, Janet Evanovich, Dean Koontz will be available for the sale from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. On Saturday, buyers may fill their own bag for $4. A members only preview night will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
